Introducation:

Al Fayoum Children's Library is one of Egypt's Society for Culture and Development (ESCD) children's libraries. The library cornerstone was placed on 07/05/1986.

The library opens its doors to serve the children and adults from Fayoum Governorate every day from 9 am to 4 pm except Fridays and public holidays. The library contributes in developing the community and caring for children and youth by investing their free time in practicing various cultural, cognitive and athletic activities.

Library Goals:

·        Developing reading habits among children and attracting them to use books, satisfying their needs for knowledge and the development of their imagination.

·        Developing children' artistic and sensory taste and encouraging them to express what they read either by drawing or acting or by free writing.

·        Formation of social habits and promoting positive attitudes towards human values such as cooperation, sharing; respect the rights of others; honesty, courage; and benevolence.

·        Enriching knowledge through seminars, workshops and specialized courses in languages, computer software.

Library internal divisions:

·        Reading Hall:

The reading hall includes information resources that exceed 16.000 items in different fields of human knowledge.

·        Activity Hall:

The activity hall is used to provide cultural and recreational activities for children and youth like art workshops, children's cinema, competitions and handicrafts.

·        Computer Lab :

The lab is equipped with the latest computers and under the supervision of a specialist, it is used in training children and adults on various computer programs, operating system and programming.
