Introduction:

The Maadi Public Library is a unique model of the role that NGOs can play in the modernization and development of science and knowledge arenas. In fact, Maadi Public Library is the result of many years of volunteering efforts. Its opening coincides with the celebration of the Egyptian's Society for Culture and Development' silver Jubilee. We have endeavored to make the Maadi Public Library a model of a new modernized library.

The library offers a wide range of information services; computer and language courses; cultural, scientific and artistic activities to benefit all segments of the community.

Information Service (user services is our business):

• Information Resources (books, videos, CD, databases).
• Reading.
• Borrowing (children/Adult).
• Online Access Public Access Catalog (OPAC).
• Audiovisual material display service
• Special needs service
• The library hosts the American and the Chinese corners.

Computer courses: (children & Adult)

• International Computer Driving License (ICDL)
• Computer principles.
• MS office specialized Diploma.
• Computer maintenance.
• Graphics & Web design Diploma
• English language courses in cooperation with distinguished entities.

• French & German language courses

Cultural and scientific activities:

• Cultural seminars, workshops and trips.
• Human Development courses for children and adults.
• Fun Science courses (Science club).

• Painting courses for children and adults.
• Qualifying courses for Art colleges' admission.
